At an incident or on the battlefield, medical care can be limited and in short supply. Field medics typically do not have access to all medical specialties and essential treatment information. Responding to the need for critical incident and battlefield medical information, 308 SYSTEMS developed the MediCam family of filed telemedicine products.
MediCam is designed to function under difficult geographic and climatologic circumstances. Using INMARSAT or VSAT reachback, field medics are linked to support physicians via both voice and video. This enables the incident or battlefield medic to access immediate medical opinions regarding real time triage issues at the site. MediCam provides the field medic with a helmet mounted color camera and audio system connected via cellular and satellite reachback to a physician subject matter expert located anywhere on the globe. This instantaneous and interactive voice and video feed proves to critically reduce patient triage errors, and increase site survival rates.
